Life changes, it does not end
Two weeks ago today, the lives of a great many people were changed by one single event. While many of us were profoundly saddened by what happened, there were also many who were helped by a profound life gift of life that was given to them.
To all of you who have offered words of support, encouragement, and otherwise showed your love and understanding, I say thank you from the bottom of my heart. Please continue to pray for Erica and her family during the days and months ahead.
Many, too, have written and said some great things for and about her. Although I was nowhere near as creative or original, here, again, are a few quotes that I shared last Friday at the memorial:
“We are not human beings having a spiritual experience. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ
“Joy is the most infallible sign of the presence of God.” – Pierre Teilhard de Chardin SJ
And from the song, Thousand Cranes, by the jazz band Hiroshima:
Show her now that we do care
with a love that we all share
send her a thousand cranes
send her your thousand cranesShow her now that we do care
with a hope that we all share
send her a thousand cranes
send her your thousand cranes
